Akiyo Fujii joined Tufts University from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP where she served as Corporate Senior Counsel. In that position, she advised clients on a wide range of complex financial transactions, represented private companies on legal, strategic and operational needs and intellectual property protection issues. She specialized in representing non-profit entities including colleges and universities, health care institutions and community organizations. She also advised tax-exempt entities on compliance issues, conflict of interest matters, reporting requirements and endowment policies. She is very knowledgeable in non-profit corporate governance issues.
Ms. Fujii serves as the Massachusetts State Liaison to the Committee on Corporate Laws of the American Bar Association and as a panelist on Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education seminars. She co-chaired the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Edwards Wildman.
From 1988-1996, Ms. Fujii worked at Ropes & Gray as a corporate associate. She is a graduate of Harvard University and New York University School of Law.
